Lovejoy Continue To Tease New Record With Instagram Posts
Lovejoy took to social media last Thursday (22nd of May) to tease the announcement of their upcoming debut album with a small video snippet of the band in the studio, and the Lovenjoyer community went wild.
This week, fuel was added to the burning fire of unanswered questions of new music when FM102.1 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin announced they would be holding an exclusive event with acoustic performances from Third Eye Blind, Young The Giant, The Head And The Heart, Badflower, and Lovejoy on June 3rd, the same day Lovejoy is due to play at Summerfest. Unfortunately, it appears to be an 18+ event according to the venue’s policy, regardless of whether or not there is a guardian present, and you have to win tickets to attend. You can check out FM102.1’s announcement below.
So, after the discovery of a third (kind-of) live date, it feels like the frenzy has turned into a full blown whirlwind as fans
Then, Lovejoy stoked the fire when they took to Instagram again on Wednesday this week (28th of May) to tease fans even further with a picture of frontman Will Gold. The fish-eye shot of Gold is black and white, and shows him holding two buttons with ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ written on them in French. However, the caption is what caught fans’ eyes as it said – “06-03-25 | Studio.”
Fans were quick to wonder what could possibly be happening on June 3rd on the fan subreddit and on Instagram, with one fan even commenting, “So I assume that’s the 6th of June?” on the original image, but a distinction was quickly made that American and English dates are written differently. The date in the caption is actually March 6th.
And, just now, Lovejoy have just released another photo to Instagram, this time, a shot of bassist Ash Kabosu in the studio, curled up underneath a denim jacket with a pick in his mouth. It was taken on a film camera, with a similar caption to Gold’s photo underneath – “28-04-25 | Studio.” You can check it out below.
Fans are begging the band to “stop holding the album hostage” and “release the album… y’all have her locked in the basement” in the comments, so there is little doubt that Lovenjoyers are ready for the record, but only time will tell when Lovejoy will be ready to release their upcoming record.
