Lovejoy Perform At Summerfest to Rave Reviews and Avid Fans
Lovejoy performed on American soil late last week on July 3rd at Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Summerfest, and their performance was met with excited fans and rave reviews from local newspapers.
Milwaukee’s Summerfest takes place over three weekends in late June to early July, featuring over 600 artists across multiple stages from a variety of genres. Alongside bands like Bad Omens, Japanese Breakfast, The Warning, Phone Boy, Hozier, and 600 others, Lovejoy joined the festivities with a performance of their own.
OnMilwaukee’s Review
Hailing Lovejoy as a “phenomenon in the making” by OnMilwaukee, staff writer Allen Halas stated that it was “an impressive feat to be a Summerfest headliner without a full-length record out,” and that “every song felt like a fan favorite.”
Halas went on to describe that Lovejoy brought a “distinctly funky sound to their brand of indie rock,” and fans never once wavered in support throughout the hour-long set, before finishing off the review by stating that“[t]here’s a different energy when you’re watching a band that is very visibly on the incline, and on Thursday night, that was more than evident at Summerfest.”
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Review
Halas wasn’t the only one who enjoyed Lovejoy’s set – the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel also included Lovejoy on their best list of the “The best and worst of Day 7 at Summerfest 2025 in Milwaukee,” Tedd Lookatch detailing how “the five-piece band powered through their catalog in a tight, energetic set. They were met by an intimate but fiercely loyal crowd that sang along with full-throated passion, giving the night an electric, communal feel.”
And with reviewers noting the dedicated fanbase, it comes as no surprise to see that one fan filmed the entire set, and several others snapped photos and posted them to the r/lvjy subreddit.

It was Lovejoy’s second festival performance of the year, with no other live dates currently on their schedule. They reportedly played a few unreleased tracks, with the setlist reading as:
