Lovejoy Debut New “Movie” on YouTube Documenting Japanese Tour Dates
It’s no real news that Lovejoy travelled to Japan in 2024 for a few dates – including a performance at Summer Sonic in Tokyo – but, it’s news that the band filmed the entirety of their travels, not just their performances, and have uploaded it to the LVJYetc YouTube channel.
Yesterday, Lovejoy dropped the link to the video in the official fan subreddit an hour ahead of the video’s public release as a treat to fans who have been supportive and active within the Lovenjoyers community.
The film itself documented about an hour worth of travels, Gold opening Pokémon packs, marvelling at Japanese insects, and rehearsals was uploaded, with rather meticulous editing skills that really did make it seem like a small film – so the title “Adventures with Lovejoy in Japan (THE MOVIE)” feels accurate.
And yet, that isn’t the only news. Lovejoy have been busy working on new music, as confirmed by Mark Boardman just an hour ago through a post to r/LVJY with a screenshot of a song the band is currently working on with the simple title: “Screenshot of a demo of a banger you'll maybe get to hear eventually one day soon or something” with a follow up caption, “Hilarious that i have the entire album demoed on my mac and you'll never even hear these versions :O”
There’s no news as to when the music will be out, but with so much happening in the Lovejoy-world, including more cryptic comments from Kabosu, there’s really no telling what surprises Lovejoy has up their sleeve.
