Lovejoy Release New Single “Common Touch” Ahead of Upcoming Album, One Simple Trick

Lovejoy have released the third, and final, single off their upcoming LP, One Simple Trick, this past Friday.

Friday, the 19th of September, indie-rock band Lovejoy dropped their newest song, “Common Touch” alongside a brand new music video, with One Simple Trick due out on the 3rd of October via Revolution Records (also known as a distributor for Warner).

“Common Touch,” according to Genius, was produced by Ali Chant, who is also responsible for producing for artists like Yard Act, Soccer Mommy, and Perfume Genius, and is the fifth track on the upcoming 11 track record. You can find the tracklist below.

Vocalist Will Gold explains that the song, and music video were inspired by, “the contrast of apathy and longing, the insincerity of vulnerability and mother Teresa. I used to visit a few cheap casinos, the imagery in this song is trying to evoke those yellow-lit, smoky-walled rooms.”

With TotalNtertainment describing the song’s opening riff as “effervescent” and “played by guitarist Joe Goldsmith, giving it that signature Lovejoy sound sonically.”

The band had a special, surprise performance last night in London at the Islington O2 Academy, which they played at just under a year ago with a rave review from ourselves. We hope all the Lovenjoyers that had the pleasure of being there last night enjoyed themselves!

And just a little more than two weeks after the album drop in 9 days – of course, we shall continue to remind you that we are keeping countLovejoy will be heading to the US for their One Simple Tour. The 27-dates will (hopefully) feature several new songs off the brand new album. You can also find tour dates below.
